RefractSurvey Templates

From Pixel Refraction Studio

A template is a saved survey shape — its groups and questions — that you can reuse to start a new survey without rebuilding it from scratch every time.

The shared Templates library.

Shared across every project

Templates aren't tied to any one project — they're a single, shared library for your whole install, found under Manage > Templates. That means a template built while working on one game can just as easily be reused for a completely different one later.

Saving a survey as a template

From any survey's builder page, choose Save as template. This copies that survey's current groups and questions into a brand new template — it doesn't affect the original survey, and doesn't include any responses, codes, or the thank-you message (none of which make sense for a template).

Starting a survey from a template

From the "New Survey" form, choose Use this template and pick one from the library. This clones the template's groups and questions into a new survey in whichever project you're currently working in, ready to be tweaked, published, and given its own codes.

The built-in "Indie Game Feedback" template

Every fresh install starts with one ready-made template: Indie Game Feedback, a 28-question survey across four groups — Steam, Playtest, About You, and Marketing & Presentation — covering purchase intent, playtest impressions, respondent background, and marketing perception. It's a solid starting point for a typical playtest feedback form; add, edit, or remove questions from it just like any other template.

Deleting a template

Deleting a template moves it to Manage > Templates > Deleted rather than removing it outright, and it can be restored from there at any time. There's no permanent-delete action for templates — a soft-deleted template just stays put until someone brings it back.

Templates and backups

Every exported backup automatically bundles your entire template library alongside whichever surveys you chose to export, so restoring from a backup brings your templates along with it.
