The Media Library is where a project's images live, ready to be used in an image question.

A project's Media Library, ready for an upload.

Uploading images

From a project's Media Library page (found under Manage), upload JPEG, PNG, GIF, or WebP images up to 8 MB each. Every uploaded file is checked to make sure it's actually a valid image, not just named like one.

Using an image in a question

Images aren't uploaded from inside the question builder directly — instead, an image question links to a picture already in the library, chosen through a picker dialog. This keeps uploading in one consistent place, and means the same image can easily be reused across more than one question or survey.

Deleting images

An image already in use by a question can't be deleted until it's no longer referenced anywhere — this avoids accidentally breaking a published survey by pulling a picture out from under it. Once nothing points to an image anymore, it can be removed from the library like anything else.

Scope

The Media Library is scoped per project — each project has its own separate set of images, matching the fact that surveys, codes, and everything else in a project stay separate from every other project too.
