Bulk create

Sometimes you need a whole batch of very similar tasks — one for every enemy type in the game, one for every level, one for every item. The "Bulk Create" tool (linked right from the navigation bar) is built exactly for that, mail-merge style:

  1. Paste in a list of items, one per line — say, a list of enemy names.
  2. Write a title and description once, using a placeholder (like {item}) wherever the enemy's name should go.
  3. Set the type, priority, due date, and any groups once — they'll apply to every task in the batch.
  4. Check the live preview to see exactly what each task will look like before you create anything.

If you set the type to Bug, the bug-specific fields (Expected behavior, Actual behavior, Steps to reproduce) can use the same placeholder trick. Every task created this way starts out in the project's first column, unassigned — same as creating one task at a time.

Saved lists

If you find yourself typing out the same list of items more than once — say, your game's full roster of enemies — save it right from the Bulk Create page so you can reload it any time from a dropdown instead of retyping it. Saved lists have their own page too, linked from both Bulk Create and Manage.

Like Stages and Groups, saved lists belong to a single project — every project's lists are its own. They also travel along with a project's backup, so moving a project to a new server doesn't mean retyping your lists from scratch.
