This page is a plain-language summary of what buying RefractSurvey gets you. The itch.io purchase page is always the authoritative source — if anything here ever seems to disagree with it, the itch.io listing wins.

What you're buying

A license to install and run RefractSurvey, self-hosted on your own server (or a server you rent), for your own studio or team. That includes:

  • Running it for as many projects, surveys, and testers as you want — see Cost Breakdown for why nothing here is metered.
  • Every future update released for the version line you bought, at no extra cost.
  • Making whatever configuration changes you like — themes, branding, permissions — since all of that is meant to be edited from inside the app.

What it doesn't include

  • Redistribution. The license covers running RefractSurvey, not repackaging or reselling it as your own product.
  • Hosting. You bring your own server; see Getting Started or Automated Server Setup to set one up.
  • Support SLAs. It's an indie tool, not an enterprise contract — see the itch.io page for how to reach out with questions.

Source code changes

RefractSurvey ships as plain PHP files with no build step, which means you technically can open any file and change it. Whether that's something you're licensed to do — and whether a modified install is still supported — is covered by the terms on the itch.io purchase page, not by anything on this wiki.

Questions

For anything not covered here — team licensing, multiple studios under one purchase, anything unusual — reach out through the itch.io listing rather than guessing from this page.
