RefractTrack License

RefractTrack is commercial, proprietary software. It is not free software, freeware, shareware, or open source, and no license granted by this document should be interpreted as such. Obtaining a copy of this software (including the source code) does not transfer ownership of it to you, and does not grant you any rights beyond those explicitly stated below.

You may obtain a licensed copy of RefractTrack at: itch.io

1. License Grant

Subject to your compliance with this License, and provided you have purchased a copy of RefractTrack through an authorized channel (such as the itch.io page above), you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and run RefractTrack on server(s) that you own or control, for the internal use of one company, studio, or non-incorporated development group.

This is a one-time purchase, and a single license covers that one company or group without limit on the number of users or projects you run under it. It does not, however, cover use by a different company, studio, or group — including a separate company you also happen to own or work for. Each distinct organization that wants to use RefractTrack needs its own license. If you're not sure whether two teams count as the same organization for this purpose, ask first.

Source code is included with your purchase because RefractTrack is a self-hosted PHP application and there's no practical way to distribute it otherwise. Including the source is a distribution necessity, not a grant of rights to modify it — see Section 2.

2. Restrictions

You may not, under any circumstances:

Use RefractTrack, or any part of it, for the benefit of any company, studio, or group other than the single one it was purchased for;
Modify, alter, or create derivative works based on the source code;
Redistribute, share, publish, or otherwise make available the source code or compiled/packaged form of RefractTrack (whether modified or unmodified) to any third party, whether for free or for payment;
Host, deploy, or operate RefractTrack on behalf of any third party, or make it accessible as a service to any person or organization who has not independently purchased their own license;
Sell, resell, sublicense, rent, lease, or otherwise transfer RefractTrack or any copy of it to any other person or entity;
Remove or alter this license or any copyright notices contained in the software;
Represent yourself as the author or owner of RefractTrack.

If you're not sure whether something you want to do falls into one of these categories, ask first.

3. Ownership

RefractTrack, including its source code, design, and all associated intellectual property, remains the property of the author. This License does not grant you any ownership interest in the software — only the limited right to use it as described in Section 1.

4. No Warranty

RefractTrack is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. You are responsible for testing, backing up, securing, and maintaining your own installation and data.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event will the author be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from, out of, or in connection with RefractTrack or the use of it — including, without limitation, loss of data, loss of profits, business interruption, or any other direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — even if advised of the possibility of such damages. You use this software entirely at your own risk.

6. Termination

This License terminates automatically if you violate any of its terms. Upon termination, you must stop using RefractTrack and destroy any copies of the source code in your possession, though data you've already generated while using the software (e.g., your own project/task data) remains yours.

7. Changes to This License

Future versions of RefractTrack may be released under updated license terms. Your rights to the specific version you purchased remain governed by the license included with that version, unless you choose to upgrade.
